Winter is encroaching...

Last night I snatched up a limited edition toy of Domo-Kun at Kinokuniya. It's where they give you those boxes and it could be one of a dozen!! I tried this at Disneyland with a vinyl Mickey Mouse and got the one I didn't want at all!! Though I was hoping for a pink Domo-kun or even the wood looking one, I got a striking blue one! He's very cute, and he moves a little. This Domo, has kindly decided to help me show off my adventures in hosting the Seattle Lolita Food & Toy Drive.

I recently switched jobs, so things have changed for me. My goal is still to be debt free, self employed by 2010 and going to San Fran, Paris, and Japan. (Japan is sounding a little to far out of my reaches, maybe 2011...)

Otherwise, I am VERY thankful for the year I've had till now. I have met a many great people, experienced many things, and have enjoyed the company of new and old friends. To be honest though, it may be a rough winter for my Hubby and I. Presents are not number one on our list, just family and friends. We will make do with what we have this holiday like everyone else.

Now is the time to share with others. My Toy & Food drive is starting on the 1st of December until the 20th! I asked for the 20th off, which is a Sunday. To prepare and have everything ready! So far in attendance, I'm assuming as couples is Aimee and April, as well as another lolita and my Hubby and I. I've already been asking close friends for help with donations and helping to give ideas. 7 people RSVP'd so far, and it's not a bad number, but I think we can do better as a community. I'll still request of some of my friends and local lolita to donate if they can't come.
To the person who brings in the most donations, I'm gifting a new ipod shuffle!

And to the person who wins 2nd place, an itunes gift card!

Winner announcements will be made at the Cheesecake Factory, just after Snowflake Lane's display. Sounds like I'll be spending all day in Bellevue :) How grand. To finish it all off, we'll be playing a gift exchange game.

Keep tuned in as I continue to update, provide further info, and help with suggestions and answer questions!!

The Time of Giving!

The Time of Giving

There has been very little activity as far as the Washington Lolitas' are concerned. We all are busy, and in times like these you find yourself counting your pennies. Others are even less than fortunate and are finding themselves in dire need and help from others. This is an open invitation to Give and Receive this upcoming holiday and bring cheer and merriment to our small but growing community. To get to know one another, and bring on the true feelings of this American Holiday.

I am hosting a Food and Toy drive for this Holiday Season. The person who can gather the MOST food for the Northwest Harvest will win either an ipod Shuffle or previous generation ipod Nano, courtesy of myself for your hard work, dedication and care. All you need to do is collect as much non perishable items between December 1st 12pm till December 20th 12pm. Bring them to our meet that Sunday for final tally and at dinner, I will announce the winner.

Toys for Tots are also looking for unwrapped gifts for children young and old, primarily teenagers are forgotten at this time and are too in need of gifts. Please bring at least 2 items new and unwrapped at our meeting place, Fire Station 1 in Bellevue, located on Bellevue Way.
After dropping off all the toys and gifts, rounding up all the collections we'll make our way to Bellevue Square in time for the Snowflake lane happenings. Enjoy snow, real drummer boys, and a small parade. After the festivities we'll retire to the Cheesecake Factory for food and gift giving. Those who wish to participate in the gift giving, bring a gift no more than $15, wrapped, and easy to give to either sex. We'll then do a game to swap presents and make it all a surprise!

If you're not tired yet, we can either visit the new high end Bravern for Trophy cupcakes, or enjoy a movie at Lincoln Square. Heck we can all have our photos taken with Santa to boot!

Break down! Who? Nikki is hosting a food and toy drive!(that's also the what!) When? December 1st through the 20th! On the 20th we'll meet at 5:45pm at the 1st Fire station in Bellevue to drop off toys, and collect all the food donations for counting. 7pm is when Snowflake Lane begins, and shortly after we'll take our reservation at the Cheesecake Factory where there will be gift giving and the winner of the food drive will receive their prize.

Please RSVP by November 30th for the dinner reservations. If you have questions concerning anything, the food or toy drive, transportation, gifts, or the date. Please let me know asap and through pinqcouture@me.com

Oh no! It's November already...

Happy Halloween!! A little late I know, but I celebrated it all month I tell you! My Hubby and I went off to Disneyland for our 9 year anniversary and had a great time!! There was a lot for us to do and enjoy- and did we ever! I picked up some neat things along the way, like these Mickey pumpkin cup, and this special edition Haunted Mansion and Nightmare before Christmas spoon. As far as classic things, Hubby and I got our traditional ears with our names in gold. Then I got all sorts of cute ears, Marie ears, Pooh ears, and Minnie Mouse ears! Huge collection :) ( I wore my glasses because the day we arrived my contact tore and I only had that pair with me ;.; fail!)
Did I both to dress Lolita? Not really, I brought lolita items, like my Emily Temple Cute tanktop in the picture above. I did wear my Metamorphose Marine JSK, and a lot of people liked it. I did not put a whole bunch of things with it though. I wore flip flops everyday to the park.

Before heading off to California I went the opposite direction, Canada! To visit my friend K for her Bday! She had a small gathering of local lolitas come as well to High tea.
Us looking all Fabo! K had also come back from Japan earlier and I had special items awaiting me. My white medium sized Usakumya and friends Sophie JSK with matching socks, yellow ribbon socks, and Chico- my new mini pink Usakumya! Not to mention, she was super awesome and picked up Totoro hand towel and wash towel for me- it's absolutely adorable.
I brought up my yellow Judy JSK, borrowed the Angelic Pretty headbow from K, my cardi is from GAP with Baby wristcuffs attached. The yellow ribbon OTK socks K bought for me in Japan by Baby an my AatP shoes you cannot see :( It was pouring on Satuday! I brought my Baby umbrella with me, but really didn't use it. I had the Chammomile tea, and was it relaxing. Everyone kept commenting how space cadet-y I was. Actually they were broken doll comments but I was just space cadet'n' :B

When we came home we relaxed, but it was back to work shortly. On the 30th though, Friday, we took Buddy out for his trick or treating. He did both ;D and had a great time, and a huge haul!! He was so adorable in his Banana costune :) Buddy won runner up on #cutepics for PeoplePets on twitter. You can also vote for Buddy in the Howl'oween costume contest we took him too! Email you vote to Dogs@ArtisPhotography.com before Nov 7th to be counted :)

Otherwise, my Halloween night included passing out bookmarks provided by my work for kids in the Mall. I was seriously swarmed by trick or treaters! Kids were everywhere and I barely got a chance to breath haha! It was great fun, by the time I got home though there were very few trick or treaters in my neighborhood, Hubby had the huge rush as well.

It's November already, and I was going to get started on sewing projects, particularly cosplays for next spring and other lolita items. Only to find out my serger has gone out of me again. Ooooh that lovely gridning no motion thing. I'll have to wait after this month to see where I am.
Ahhh November already, I better get started of gift making!!

In love with Fall

I love fall, it's the time for harvest and baking, canning, and jarring to preserve! I've been sharing with my coworkers, from scratch home baked blueberry muffins from our summer exploits. My Mom has 3 huge blueberry bushes in the back. They produce dime sized blueberries at time and in abundance. There's always bags of them in her freezer and I'm always welcome to them to try and keep the cache low. I also have been trying my hand at apple pie, still getting down the recipes, but it still tastes great- so says my co-workers and Hubby :)

I get emails from William Sonoma about the latest things they're carrying. They showed me these great pocket pie molds!! What a cute and awesome idea!

While out, I stopped by Daiso to pick up some falsies!

Awesome charcoal nose strips to detox and remove congested pores. Crap liquid eyeliner that I swiftly tossed out after giving it a try on the back of my hand.

Want to see how the lashes turned out?

Recently discovered : April March, she's awesome check out her music!

Oh Gee Golly...

Sorry guys, I really have been gone for some time. I've been preparing for my October vacation. Saving, yet not.

Baking with some apples my Mom bought for me in Wenatchee, and using up a lot of blueberries from the end of the summer. There's a lot I want to do in my one day off tomorrow. I'll see how it goes.

I picked up the Judy Usakumya JSK that I was lusting after when Baby visited from InnoSera, unfortunately they changed up the design so I was slightly disappointed. It's also a bit tight on me... hmmm...

Like I said, I've been really concerned with my October vacation! Our first stop is Vancouver, Canada to visit my friend K. We'll be celebrating Her birthday, hanging out with the local lolita crowd, then heading back home, only to take a flight off to California! Yeeah!- No driving for us this time around haha!
Hanging out in Disneyland for their Halloween set up and fun! So. Absolutely. Excited.

End of Story- super excited!!

Tomorrow I hope to do a more decent update. I'll type more then!

Watching new JDrama's and eating Raisinets

Remember a while back I was talking about Otomen? Well I've been meaning to bring it up again. For one in the second book it involves a lolita! Not your shining image of one per say- but a lolita none the less. It's a cute scenario.

Otherwise, the series is just plain wonderful and fun! What's even better is that it's been turned into a JDrama!! You can see the first couple of episdoes on youtube right now! It's not translated though.

Fastinating!
